The neighborhood of Memorial, which takes its name from one Memorial Drive in the city, is one that is located just west of Downtown Houston, Texas. Here you can find a variety of impressive architectural styles, exceptionally mid-century modern. Some of the most affluent styles of architecture of Houston can be found in Memorial, particularly along the Buffalo Bayou. This area of Houston is also home to significant retail and office developments, such as Citycentre and Memorial City.
Before becoming annexed by Houston, the area that is now the neighborhood of Memorial was once farmland as well as vast country estate land. However, between the 1950s and the 1980s, Memorial slowly became a part of this bustling Texan city. This park, covering an area of 22 acres, is terrific for kids and those who want to cool off, thanks to the extensive playground on the premises as well as a splash park. Besides, adults and sports lovers have much to enjoy at this park, such as the 12-hole disc golf course and multiple tennis courts. Just make sure to bring lots of water!
